CREATE SITE AND POST A LINK TO IT ON OUR WEEBLY LINK ANGEL DISCUSSION FORUM DEADLINE: FRIDAY, MARCH 30TH, 6 PM
PLEASE FIRST WATCH THESE INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS FOR HELP ON SETTING UP A WEEBLY WEB SITE.
Go to http://www.weebly.com to create your own site. Be sure to write down your site name, and log in password information just in case you forget later how to log in!
CREATE YOUR OWN WEEBLY SITE. NOW GO TO OUR ANGEL CLASS SITE AND POST YOUR SITE NAME IN THE FORUM: "WEEBLY SITE NAME" AND INCLUDE YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME IN YOUR POST ALONG WITH A LINK TO YOUR SITE. BE SURE IT IS A LINK AND NOT JUST A TYPED NAME! PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO CLICK ON YOUR SITE NAME AND THEN SEE YOUR SITE!
Pick a design that has a picture in the banner at the top of the website template. You will later customize the banner photos on your own pages in your site.
You will be blogging about a subject that interests you throughout the semester. Pick a site name that ties into the subject you select for your own blog. example: F8Photography; FlickFan; AnimaeAnimae; SkiBumSki; KidCrafts; etc. If the name you pick is not available, try another or as shown in video 2, add hyphens or an "s".
Create a page with two columns. Add a photo of your self in one column and write a paragraph about yourself in the other column. This video shows you how to do that. Now go to pages and name it HOME and save.
Create a BLOG page by going to PAGES and clicking on ADD BLOG, then save. Do not start your blog entries yet. You will do that next week.
Go to pages and add a new page. Title it CONTACT. Click on edit page. Now click on More on menu at top of page and drag CONTACT FORM onto your page. Click on "Click here to edit". Now change name to CONTACT, enter an email address where you will receive contact messages, click on CONFIRMATION TEXT and write a new message for people to receive after they contact you.
Another helpful video. Ignore instructions on linking to an external site at 5:05 - 5:15 min. and the instructions on linking an RSS feed given at 6:25 - 8:50 in this video.
